While we wait for Sing Street to hit the stage of the Lyceum, we are thanking ALL the theater gods for giving us a cast recording full of bops to listen to to help the days go by.

About the show: There’s a reason Rebecca Taichman has a Tony Award -  she’s a really remarkable director! Lucky for all of us, she’s at the helm of Sing Street, a delightful stage musical adaptation of a story that so many loved in the 2016 film of the same name. An extremely energetic and talented young cast rocks out Spring Awakening-style, but playing the music live onstage as a band that they form as part of the story (!), in this coming-of-age tale about teenagers in Dublin in the 1980s.

Game of Thrones’ Brenock O’Connor is our hero and is simply terrific. Zara Devlin plays his love interest in a performance that can only be described as sparkling and revelatory. Future megastar(s) alert! Almost every single other member of the cast is captivating, and be aware that there are several performances that will break your heart into a million pieces.

Even better? The music is so good that this is the kind of show that you walk out of wanting the cast recording yesterday. Lucky for us, the cast recording was just released and is available for streaming on all platforms now! They also released a short music video teaser of the song The Riddle of the Model that you can check out below:
